[ARCHIVED] Luau in Laradise

Luau Flyer 2025

Aloha, Laramie! The Laramie Community Recreation Center is excited to host their annual “Luau in Laradise,” a family-friendly event focused on escaping the cold and embracing the dream of a tropical paradise. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best beach attire and join the Luau in Laradise at the Rec Center on February 28th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The evening event will have a tropical theme with new, exciting events in store. Along with special surprises, Luau in Laradise will again have pool and gym activities as well as a bounce house. This family-friendly event features ukelele music, hula lessons, a limbo contest, a hula hoop competition, balloon animals, face painting with Disney princesses, sandcastle building, a log roll and iceberg in the pools, rubber ducky races, and many more surprise events.

“Laramie residents loved when we hosted a Pumpkin Dunkin’ in the past but still need a fun, indoor event in the winter. So, we listened and have now hosted Luau in Laradise for the past few years as a way to beat the winter blues and enjoy our pools and facilities. Our pools are a great asset and have unique features that make hosting events fun and exciting, especially in the winter when our kids need something to do,” says Recreation Manager, Jodi Guerin.

The evening allows families to get out and enjoy indoor fun while it’s cold outside. The Rec Center is thrilled to host fun giveaways for kids who attend. Plus, families can enjoy bingo, a photo booth, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, and the opportunity to meet UW Head Coach, Sundance Wicks, and Cowboys athletes. Refreshments, including a Tiki Food Bar and ice cream, are provided.

For residents dreaming of warmer weather, join Luau in Laradise for community fun and engagement to help kick the winter blues on February 28th. The event is open for all ages and admission is free for Rec Center members or with the purchase of a day pass. Learn more about the event at https://www.cityoflaramie.org/1408/Luau-in-Laradise
