Welcome to the Laramie Municipal Court

The Laramie Municipal Court handles violations of City of Laramie ordinances and certain adopted Wyoming state statutes. Our office provides services related to citations, court appearances, jury service, and court records.

Initial Appearances

Initial appearances may be conducted in person or remotely via Zoom.

Defendants who wish to request a Zoom appearance must submit a request by email to municourt@cityoflaramie.org. Requests must include the defendant’s full legal name and date of birth so the Court can properly identify the case and provide further instructions.

Defendants appearing in person may do so at the Laramie Municipal Court, where arraignments are conducted promptly at:

9:00 a.m. — Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday

Court Jurisdiction

The Laramie Municipal Court has jurisdiction over violations of City of Laramie ordinances and certain adopted Wyoming state statutes.

Citations issued by the Laramie Police Department or the University of Wyoming Police Department are typically processed through this Court. Many of these citations involve traffic-related offenses; however, the most serious offense commonly handled in Municipal Court is Driving While Under the Influence (DWUI).

Citations issued by the Albany County Sheriff's Office or the Wyoming Highway Patrol are not heard in Municipal Court. These matters are handled by the Albany County Circuit Court.

Court Holiday Closures

The Laramie Municipal Court is closed on all official City of Laramie holidays.
