Records

The records division provides a vital service to the community. This division is responsible for collecting, maintaining, and distributing all police reports and related records. It is the responsibility of the Records Specialist to abide by the State of Wyoming’s Public Records laws regarding all documents, reports, and notes they control.

Requestors are reminded to be specific when requesting information to ensure proper information is prepared. It is helpful if the requestor can provide the following:

  • Date the incident occurred,
  • Location of the incident,
  • Names and date(s) of birth of persons involved,
  • Type of incident (i.e., theft, battery, crash, etc.)
  • Name, address, and phone number of the requestor

How to request records:

  1. Call the records division at 307-721-5325 OR
  2. Come in person to the records division, 420 Ivinson Avenue, during the hours of 8:00 am through 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday OR
  3. Fill out the electronic submission form located on the Forms Page OR
  4. Email the records department with the information listed above at records@cityoflaramie.org.

Record Request Fees

Background check requests - $10.50

  • Must be requested with a signed release.

Police report requests - $5.25 per report
