City Press Releases Posted on March 07, 2025

City of Laramie Seeks Public Comment on Upcoming Ivinson Ave. Project

The City of Laramie is planning a surfacing and sanitary sewer rehabilitation project on Ivinson Avenue from 6th Street to the alley between 8th and 9th Street. Phase I of the Ivinson Infrastructure Upgrades Project is set to begin this summer. Before construction starts, the City is hosting a public meeting on March 12th from 5 – 6 p.m., where residents may provide comments and ask questions about the project

Together with its project consultant, Trihydro Corporation, the City is hosting an open house to present additional information on the project and open the floor for public comment. This is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the project, understand its scope and timeline, and ask questions directly to City representatives and project consultants.

“This project is crucial in maintaining and improving Laramie’s core infrastructure. As a Civil Engineer with the City of Laramie, I see firsthand how aging utilities and deteriorating roadways impact our community. This project will replace an aging and undersized section of sewer line, enhance roadway conditions, and improve accessibility, ensuring that Ivinson Avenue remains a safe and reliable corridor for residents, businesses, and visitors for years to come,” says City Civil Engineer, Cole Inghram, P.E.

The Ivinson Infrastructure Upgrades – Phase I Project aims to improve infrastructure reliability, longevity, accessibility, and overall safety for all users. The project will replace approximately 875 feet of sanitary sewer line, conduct full-width surfacing rehabilitation, including sections of full-depth asphalt replacement and mill/overlay of approximately 900 feet of road, and improve select curb and gutter sections. Additionally, ADA-compliant ramp upgrades will be included, aiding the long-term reliability of critical utility and transportation systems while enhancing pedestrian accessibility.

The public comment period allows the City to engage with residents, business owners, and stakeholders to gather valuable feedback and address any concerns about the project. Input from Laramie residents ensures transparency in the project’s planning and helps refine the City’s implementation strategies to best meet community needs. The City encourages residents to attend and provide feedback to help ensure the project aligns with community expectations and minimizes potential disruptions.

The Ivinson Infrastructure Upgrades – Phase I Project public meeting will be held at the City of Laramie Municipal Operations Center, 4373 N 3rd Street, from 5 - 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.  As the project timeline advances and construction begins, the City reminds residents to check the interactive City of Laramie Road Closures Map to view current and pending road closures and right-of-way obstructions.
