Residents can take their natural Christmas trees to the Laramie Landfill for FREE. Please remove all tinsel, lights, decorations, tree stands, and plastic bags from Christmas trees prior to drop-off. All natural trees will be used to produce compost, saving valuable landfill space and producing a valuable soil amendment. Artificial trees are not recyclable; however, the landfill will take them for disposal and normal rates will apply.
The Laramie Landfill is located at 162 Roger Canyon Road and is open Monday thru Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The landfill is closed on Sundays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Related Note - Safe Disposal of Fireplace Ashes
The Solid Waste Division would like to take this opportunity to remind residents to be especially careful when disposing of fireplace ashes. Ashes may be left in the fireplace or stove until cool or may be cooled in a metal container until cool to the touch. Once the ashes have cooled completely, place them in a plastic bag or other container and then dispose of the ashes by placing them in the garbage. Un-contained cold ashes create large, unhealthy clouds of dust that the Solid Waste Workers have to breathe when dumping garbage containers.
