The Laramie Police Department accepts lateral transfers. If your P.O.S.T. certification is from another state, you will need to meet the minimum requirements for certification as a Peace Officer in the State of Wyoming. To find out if you do, YOU must contact the P.O.S.T Commission in Cheyenne, Wyoming at 307-777-7718 with documented training information for them to review.
If you are applying as a previously certified Peace Officer, you must ALSO include:
Certificate of attendance of a basic Law Enforcement Academy.
If it is an academy outside the state of Wyoming, you will need to provide documented hours and course of instruction.
Documentation of any advanced Law Enforcement training.
