Parks & Recreation offers two skateboarding options each summer. Learn to Skateboard is a free drop-in program, while our Skateboard Camp is a more intensive one week camp. See below for more information on each.

2021 Information

Learn to Skateboard

These morning skate sessions are dedicated to helping all levels of skateboarders progress their skills at the skate park. Advanced riders and instructors will be on hand for individual guidance and instruction. Girls and boys of all ages and skill levels are welcome to drop in. A limited number of skateboards and safety equipment will be available for loan. Classes held on following days: May 8, 22; Jun 12, 26; Jul 10, 24; Aug 14, 28; Sep 11, 25. No registration needed, just drop into the sessions that work in your schedule!

Age: 6-18 years

Location: LaBonte Park

Skateboard Camp

These mini-camps are designed to give youth a jump start on summer skateboarding. Open to girls and boys with beginning to intermediate skills. Safe riding at the skate park will be covered.  A liability waiver must be signed by a parent/guardian.  Registration opens May 1, deadline June 7.

Age: 6-12 years

Location: LaBonte Park

Note: A helmet, skateboard and water bottle are required. A limited number of skateboards will be available to borrow. Knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards are recommended.

Age: 6-12 years

Fee: $45 per camp, participants may register for one or both camps in their age group.
