Skateboarding

Parks & Recreation, in partnership with Skate Laramie, offers multiple skateboarding opportunities in the summer. Learn to Skateboard and Drop-in are free programs, while the Skateboard Camp is a more intensive one week camp. See below for more information on each.

Learn to Skateboard

These morning skate sessions are dedicated to helping all levels of skateboarders progress their skills at the skatepark. Advanced riders and instructors will be on hand for individual guidance and instruction. Girls and boys of all ages and skill levels are welcome to drop in. Skateboards and safety equipment will be available for loan. Classes held on following days: May 13 & 27,  Jun 10 & 24, Jul 8 & 22, Aug 12 & 26; Sep 9, 23. No registration needed, just drop into the sessions that work in your schedule!

Age: 6+

Days/Time: May-September, 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month, 9a-10:30a

Location: LaBonte Park

Fee: Free!

Drop in Sessions  

These sessions are meant for skaters looking for community and guidance as they progress their skills at the skatepark. All older beginners and intermediate level riders are welcome. Advanced riders and instructors will be on hand for guidance and instruction. Skateboards and safety equipment will be available for loan. 
 
Age: Teen +

Days/Time: May-September, Wednesdays 7-8:30p (weather dependent)

Location: LaBonte Park

Fee: Free!

Skateboard Camp

These mini-camps are designed to give youth a jump start on summer skateboarding. Open to girls and boys with beginning to intermediate skills. Safe riding at the skate park will be covered.  Registration opens May 1, deadline one week before camp begin date.

Location: LaBonte Park

Fee: $60 per camp, participants may register for one or both camps in their age group.

Note: A personal helmet, skateboard and water bottle are highly recommended. Skateboards and pad sets will be available to borrow.
